HTUM Youth League II: Piglets 5 v 0 Battery
“Crushed by a better side” was the parent’s consensus after an almost embarrassing effort at the Park De Pigs. Coach Jeffry Jacob found himself in the unusual position of agreeing with his harshest critics as his youth side failed to generate a single chance on goal, despite fielding an attacking 3-4-3 formation.
Several lapses in concentration were concerning though, with the first coming in the 39th minute.
With Bellevue’s discipline weakening, the Piglets capitalised, taking a 2-0 lead into the halftime break.
With some terse, half-heard words from the coach, the Battery’s organisation was reported to be solid, but in the 50th minute…
…all semblance of structure collapsed as the Battery lads suddenly looked inadequate. That loss of discipline would have dire consequences as Lamah Itani landed an incredible four goal haul.
Even worse, Battery players began to vent their frustrations on the opposition, with Ron Tai’s elbow to Bruce Maguire quickly punctuated by Kosta Filipovic’s studs to take the Piglet playmaker out of midfield for the rest of the match.
The 5-0 result sees the Battery slip to 5th place on the HTUM Youth II ladder, and Jeffry Jacob has made some drastic changes to the squad for next week’s important match against Siguldas Raketes.
Vitali, Tiropitaras, Wasser and Prineas have all been encouraged to play other sports.

Following the release of four local kids from the squad, Jeffry Jacob is stacking his hopes on new arrivals Cane and Cartledge to provide some firepower on the wings.
Grady Rapid, goalkeeping prodigy has reportedly reached his gloved potential, so this week should see the debut of bright spark Bronx Turagabea between the sticks as Rapid looks to round off his defensive technique.
At this stage, coach Jacob is considering a vast array of training options, as besides his two solid, but older goalkeepers, he is in possession of what is considered a respectable team, with no true standout talents.

I’ll have some oranges as well please
For what its worth, Itani won’t be around for much longer… I’m sure it will be a much closer game next time around when I have no forwards left to play.
Try to keep the bacon at home in the return game!
Hope the team will enjoy their stay in Division V! At least it’s not Essen’s division V
Actually, the big untold story this week was the senior team’s first win in Div V, but I keep cramming this thing with posts, I didn’t want it to become a news ticker!
Just post it anyway, it’s all good
Yes, please keep posting, otherwise I have nothing to read over lunch break and I might actually have to do something…
