Zuber Brace Scores Golden Boot

Porirua Arena, Sunday – A brace of goals from Lysdexic Untied striker Geri Zuber in Untied’s 7-0 win over Porirua has landed him the league top scorer award for their fifth division league this season. Zuber finished the season with 14 league goals, just one goal ahead of Hogans Heros striker Denis Shuster – who could have won the award but failed to score this week.

The award tops off a fantastic season for Lysdexic Untied, finishing the league fixtures undefeated and graduating to the fourth division league IV.47 courtesy of an automatic promotion.

Zuber is also odds-on favourite to take out his clubs Godlen Boot award, the top scorer for the club in all match types. The presentation of this award will be at the conclusion of the season in a little over a week’s time.

Kangas Get Bounced

Arden Street Oval, Sunday – It was the top of the table clash. It was the first of two matches that would decide the Oceania fifth division league V.155 title and it was shaping up to be a pressure cooker match. Both teams had unbeaten runs up to this match, both teams were claiming superiority, it was on a knife-edge. The result? A convincing blowout in the end.

Connors Kangas FC brought the experience and the supposed upper hand into the match, with Lysdexic Untied undoubtedly the underdog but it came out reversed with Lysdexic eventually blowing away the Kangas, 7-2. In a match that would go down as one of the most remarkable games for referees and confrontations, one that featured no less than three penalties, all to one team. But it all began with a pivotal free kick awarded to Lysdexic in the fifth minute, well within range for set piece taker Kumar Guha and he made no mistake, curving the perfectly weighted ball into the top right corner of the goal.

Lysdexic Smoke Stoners!

Speeling Stadium, Wednesday – Lysdexic Untied have caused the upset of the season by taking down Stoners United in this week’s fourth round Oceania National Cup match. The much more fancied Stoners United, who are the number one team in Oceania’s fourth division presently, were huge favourites coming into the game and Lysdexic Manager Cyntech was uncharacteristically pessimistic about the match. “We’re going to go try our best. We’re hopelessly outclassed but we try every match regardless”.

Untied striker Geri Zuber put Lysdexic on the scoreboard in the tenth minute after he chipped the Stoners keeper. Lysdexic doubled their lead in the 20th minute when Zuber struck again. Stoners got one back after a superb free kick striker by Stoners wingback Miguel Maynard but Zuber was just untouchable getting his hattrick in the 35th minute and the writing was on the wall for the fourth division club.

However, Lokomotiv weren’t going to be intimidated and played a defensive pressing straegy that starved the Lysdexic strikers of the ball for much of the first half.

Lysdexic Amend for Slow Cup Start

The Arena, WA, WednesdayLysdexic Untied made amends for their sluggish start to the Oceania Cup on Wednesday with an 8-0 thumping of the Administrator-led club Wellsys Mob. Season Opener Goal Feast

Speeling Stadium, Sunday – Lysdexic United started season 35 with a bang on Sunday, with a healthy goal feast against the administration led Porirua. The stadium was near capacity for the first round clash of the season, with fans of both teams filling the seats early.

Lysdexic were fairly calm and quiet during the first twenty minutes, looking for openings in the Porirua back line and controlling possession. The avalanche of goals started when Abdul Nasir bin Dzulkarnain curled in a ripper of a ball from the right corner of the 18 yard box that the Porirua had no chance of reaching. A brace of goals from striker Geri Zuber five minutes later put Untied three goals up and giving the Porirua fans a sense of the ensuing goal-fest. Javier Amendariz made if four-zip not long after.

Geri Zuber was really giving the Porirua defenders a hard time, slipping through their defensive line, many times unmarked and could have had his hattrick early in the second half. Veteran defender Grivelakos set up Barzotto unmarked in the 6 yard box less than ten minutes into the second half, finding the net easily – marking his second goal in as many matches since joining the club in the season opening transfer period. Lysdexic added two more goals to finish the match an impressive 7-0 to the good.
