Schijnwerpers here to stay!!!

I truly believe that the Ht-Gods were with us this afternoon, but beside that we were also a bit stronger than AC Natuurpunt. All credits to them for making the game this hard. Its a team that will me the promotion next year for sure.

With 2 goals Matthias Hänggi crowned himself the man-of-the match, also Max Buschdorf played a hell of a game again. The fans scanded his name after the match for such a marvellous performance!!

But this victory couldn’t be possible without all the players in the A-squad. A short overview of the most important players.

Defence

Telmo Radical is our rock in the defense, guardian of the nets. Still young and thus room for experience.

Rino Totti found his way home after a season in the primera division and 2 seasons in Argentina. Now he is back with us : the perfect box-to-box player.

Rino found his buddy in Albert Constanzo. Both players will finish their careers with us and aim for the coaching spot. The defense closes with Reikko Vaabel, a bit of a loner as he is the only real wingback we have. Nevertheless he is that little extra in defence and offence.

Midfield

Lorenzo Del Mazo completed his first whole season with the Schijnwerpers and seems to be improving every week. Stll some space left for passing training. Max Buschdorff often gets voted the most important “Schijnie” of the match. He is so powerfull and able to send the perfect pass. Anthony Donnet joined the forces at the start of the season. Never ceases to amaze people with his incredible abilities as an offensive wing. At last but not least Franck Jonckheere on the other side of the field. Both usefull on the wing and as midfielder.

Attack

Destined  to be a midfielder, Eden De Vos was discovered as schijnwerpers’ defensive forward. At the same time he is scoring goals and he is strenghtening the midfield. Matthias Hänggi was allready mentioned: the scoring machine of the ended season. Great as a wingattacker!!

 

Next seson will be as hard as this one. I hope the board will give us the financial space to strenghten this team. Goal is to avoid the demotion.

Schijnwerpers eager to play qualification game

This is the only and probably most important post of this season. The announcement that Schijnwerpers will take on Natuurpunt FC for a spot in division V. Natuurpunt is trying to promote, we try to avoid demotion.

If the Schijnwerpers loose, lots of players will be transferlisted. Most likely the ones that weigh alot on our budget.

The hippo’s were a bit too hungry for the Schijnwerpers.

Many people allready know that Hippo’s are the most dangerous animals in Africa but that they can also play some nice football was till today a big secret.

They dominated us in almost every line on the field and we had no answer ( just two attemps in 90′).

They scored at 50% fieldchances and 100% set pieces. These statistics pinpoint the weakness of our team in offense and in defence.

Our fans don’t blame us: they are allready waiting for the next game!

For the interested: a small glimp of our MVP’s

1. Herbert Watty

With his 29 years, Herbert puts in a lot of experience and tor-instinct. Because of his almost perfect setpieces-skill he – hopefully – will be responsible for many victories this season!!

2. Romeo Van Huysegem

Another rock in our offensive strenght! Watch out for his incredible leftfoot. But don’t make Romeo angry cause he has got a little temper.

3. Abel Goesaert

Once a prospect for the U-20 (still followed by the headcoaches of the national teams), now he has become the box-to-box player our team needed. With just 19 years of age, he has still loads of progress to make and will become the ultimate OCD! our talent scouts made him sign with the Schijnwerpers at the age of 17 and he will probably leave at age 40!

4. Jordan Pletschet

Without a Spec you will never be summoned for the national teams. If this weren’t so, Jordan would allready have alot of caps for the Belgian team. But what did you expect with such a name! An even better OCD then Abel.

5. Gerd Hendrickx

Allready at the age of 18years and 12 days he will make his first appearance for the U-20 team of Belgium. We probably can’t keep him forever in our team but nevertheless: a talent you can’t ignore!!!

preview sunday’s game Go Klojo – Schijnwerpers

Still completely battered by the upsetting victory over the Noobs in the cup, this is what manager Schijnwerpers had to say about the upcoming league game against Go Klojo:

 

Journalist1: “The expectations of the fans aren’t really high. What do you expect yourself?”

Schijnwerper:  “ brrrrwzzz” grumbles and falls asleep “ you bitchezzz…” “what what?”

Journalist1: “ I asked you if you also expect a loss this Sunday against Klojo”

Schijnwerper: “offcourse I’m the boss…pffff, can I have some Vicodin please, my head hurts…”

Journalist2: “ Klojo is the unbeaten leader in the series table, what’s the plan for defeating them?”

Schijnwerper: starts singing ”…follow the leader leader leader, follow the leader ,…”

Journalist 3: “Can You at least tell us what the line-up is going to be?”

Schijnwerper: “allright” – takes out a crumbled paper out of his pocket – “in the goal: a pint of Carlsberg, midfield: vodka on the wings and martini in the middle, we’ll have 3 shots of Tequila in defence and some peanuts in offence”

 

Schijnwerpers crashes on the floor, the journalists leave the room with more questions than earlier.

Deus Ex Machina…

… is probably not the most correct term to use, because we won fair and square against a division V-team. The prayer made last post didn’t boost our players into divinity but had a big influence on their spirits.

Manager Schijnwerper after the victory:

“we thank you O HT-lord for this holy victory

We are grateful until we are defeated

We’ll drink this champagne as it is your blood

And will eat these burgers as it was your flesh

We’ll spread the word of your goodness to others

as they may also feel your presence in our tribunes”

 

The manager + coach made an oath that if we make it through the 4th round, all the fans will receive free ketchup with their 5-euro-hamburgers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One day to go!!

The Schijnwerpers are up against the most difficult assignment of the last 13 seasons when we played against a team of third division in the sixth round of the Belgian cup.

It will be a miracle to even score against them, but with a teamspirit that reaches into the clouds we could have the matchengine on our side.

The first squad made a trip to Santiago the compostela to please the hattrickgods. A prayer was made:

 

“hattrick matchengine in Sweden

hallowed be your codes

your final score will come

your matchevents will be done

on my computerscreen as in thou motherboard

give us this wednesday our daily victory

and forgive us our lack of skills

as we will penetrate their defenses

and let us be without injuries

but forgive our inexperience

in the cup and in competition – Amen “

 

The Ht-Gods gave no answer at that time. The future will tell!

Gerd Hendrickx: part of the natinal U-20 team!

The board of trustees received this monday a letter from the Belgian headcoach of the U-20 team:

 

‘ Dearest Schijnwerper,

 

due to the excellent progress of your youngster Gerd Hendrickx, we would like to call him up for the first practice sessions in the national stadium. We see a bright future in Gerd and hope you could release him for the upcoming qualification matches.

Keep up the good work!! ‘

 

Gerd will be the second player of the Schijnwerpers-team that will wear the national jersey after Shahin Vahidli did for Azerbaijan (he played 30 matches for the U-20 and 32 for the national team).
