Talent Show

The Golden League game against Pro Hidalgo

At the beginning of this season two young talents promoted to the first squad to show what they are able to in a much more competitive level, a.k.a. the Golden League. While Joël Taillefer is still playing as a winger, which is not really his preferred position Gion Reinhard has his familiar position in the inner midfield. Joël about his actual position:

In the academy I always played as a forward, that’s what I like most! The main reason is that my biggest talent is to score! But anyway, if the Coach’s putting me on the wing, I’ll do my best on this position. I’m happy about they given me the chance to play in this team, therefore I’ll play whatever my order is. Sooner or later I will play as a forward again, I’m sure! And then I will start to score, I promise!

He and his mates won this week Golden League game against Pro Hidalgo with 3-1. It was necessary to win this game, because VFJ won their game with 7-0 and earned eight points including the bonus for a clean sheet and a walk over. This means that the advantage of the Gold Rushers is only two points right now. Seems like this competition is getting more exciting in the upcoming weeks. And the fact that our team will play another friendly against the team of a good RL-friend of the manager before they’ll return to the Golden League gives VFJ the possibility to take the lead next week. Back to topic: Gion Reinhard is now one step ahead of Joël, because he scored his first goal in this week’s game:

It was a wonderful moment, a moment I won’t forget for the rest of my life! The feeling was nearly the same as I signed the contract to join the first squad… no; it was even better than that! After a corner kick the ball came to me via Simone’s head and I couldn’t help my self, I had to put that thing into the net!

It was the score-opening goal and old hand Jan Pelka has scored the both additional goals, before Pro Hidalgo could succeed with a counter attack a few minutes before the game ended.

The return of Salvatore Lasagna

After this game was ended our manager Schluurggi traveled to Poland to negotiate and complete the transfer of Salvatore Lasagna back to Rünenberg, since manager Leebebbs of Renaissance FC decided that there won’t be a place for Salvatore within his new team anymore.

Salvatore went through the academy and was promoted ten weeks ago. Only three days later he joined the team of lower Silesia where he played several games on different positions to improve his skills.

I had a great time in Poland and I’ll miss some of the lads of course, but it is also a very good feeling coming home. Especially when I see those well-known friends again. It will be fun to play with Joël and Gion again, as we did in the academy. We have been a great team and with the others more experienced players of the first squad we will rock the Golden League again and of course we three will learn a lot of them!

Sounds like he’s got a lot of mental strength and confidence up there in Poland. We will see how they do very soon. The managers agreed and signed the transfer contract while Salvatore played his last game with Renaissance FC against Warsaw Scousers, which they won with 5-1. Salvatore was substituted after 65 minutes, because they had to catch a flight, and heard a big round of applause.

Reunion: Joël, Gion and Salvatore

The friendly game of the Juniors

It was late last night when Salvatore and Mr. Schluurggi arrived just before RJs entered the pitch to play a friendly at their Campus. Coach Hannes Bratschi had in mind to test the recently arrived young talents. Five talents had to show that they are worth to keep them. In particular the first appearance of a boy called Piermarco Bontempi, who joined the academy this week, but also the debut of the young Timon Blank, as captain of the team were the ‘points of interest’.

And these two talents have been the two most impressive in yesterday’s game. Piermarco earned his first clean sheet with an excellent six-star performance in his first game ever. Timon was announced as best player of the game with an awesome seven-star rating! But there have been some more talents which names had to be showed on the match screen: the three scorers! Kristina Erik Rische, a winger that joined the team four weeks ago, opened the score. Herbert Zehnder was involved in the two other goals. While he scored one by himself, he kicked a free kick in perfect manner and saw Damien Fouque heading that ball into the net. Timon Blank was very proud after the game:

It is such a great honour! I joined the team three weeks ago, last Saturday I was in the starting line-up and today I wear the captain’s armband! What will happen next?

We don’t know what will come up next in Timon’s life, but we know that RJs would play there next game against FCBuzzo U21 on Saturday, right before the first team will play against FC Yamamoto

About Sir Schluurggi

Hi, my name is Roger. I live in Rünenberg near to Basel in Switzerland. My favorite reallife Team is of course FC Basel 1893! since I was ten, when I have visited my first live football-game. I started playing Hattrick two years ago. I read an article about Hattrick on the website of FC Basel, when FC Wiehlmys was the first Swiss Champion of our region. I have written a post about what I think about these first two years. Here in Rünenberg there is no real football-team, so I thought it should have one. :-) In real life I work as productmanager. My hobbies are supporting FC Basel in the St.Jakobspark, Horsebackriding, Fasnacht (swiss carneval) and my Family. That's all folks ;-)
