Usually when it comes to tournament games, we officially don’t know where the games will be held, but this time everything will be different. Where else than in Egypt should this tournament be played? We are very much looking forward to play in Cairo, Alexandria or Sharm el Sheikh. Team manager Schluurggi told us his thoughts about the seven competing teams besides the Gold Rushers:
Pro Hidalgo, Italy
We have met the Italian team located in Firenze once during the Golden League Season II. We played at their site and won the game with a score-line of 3-1. But a tournament game would be something completely different. It would be great if we meet in the final stage.
Rochdale United, England
Next week we will travel to the Greater Manchester and face Rochdale United on the pitch for the first time. They have played four Golden League games against strong teams like Los Mejores and Blankaholms and won one of them against Klaukkala Bears. Hopefully the team will find his way to the places in Egypt. It’s harder to find them in the desert than in Romania.
SK Sau Hlinsko, Czech Republic
Hlinsko is an absolutely unknown team to me. We will have an eye on the team which is located in the Hradec Králové Region during the group stage, so that we will be prepared if we meet them. My first impression is that this team could be the main competitor to VFJ to win the group B.
Vi Flæsker jer, Denmark
There are no words to say about the kings of bacon from Sønderjylland, or are there? Well, it is a kind of rivalry between them and us since we played our very first Golden League game at their site and lost 2-5. Since then the two teams have met several times and all of these games have been close and as I know Mentor C was not always happy with the outcome. Looking forward to meet them in the semis, if we both get there.
Blankaholms bolltrollare, Sweden
We played the team from Östergötland at their site a few weeks ago. The game ended with a 3-0 win for our guys. But as I already said about Pro Hidalgo: playing a tournament will be something completely different. I’m sure it will be a hard fight to earn something in this game.
Sidekicks FC, United States of America
This is a team I’m really pleased to meet. We will play the final game of the group stage against them and it will be the very first time the both teams meet. As it is a long lasting wish to play against the team from San Francisco, it will be a memorable event for sure, at least for me.
Horus Falcons, Czech Republic
After VFJ the second team, that shares a friendly rivalry with the Gold Rushers. There couldn’t be a tournament in which both teams are playing and they won’t meet. This time it will be the opening game that makes it special once more. The Falcons and the Gold Rushers are extremely balanced on every square inch of the pitch; therefore the outcome of this encounter is nearly unpredictable.
Prediction?
First of all it is a unexpected and great honor to be a part of this tournament. We have in mind to survive the group stage as always, but I’m really not able to tell you more at this time. We will take one game after the other and see what happens. All the teams guarantee interesting and exciting games to come.

“Hopefully the team will find his way to the places in Egypt. It’s harder to find them in the desert than in Romania.”

LOL
That’s a good one
Should make for an interesting tournament (even if I say so myself
) as a lot of the team are reasonably well matched up. Looking forward to keeping the gold hidden from the Gold Rushers in the opening game
We will see if you can hide it good enough
LOL – Don’t forget the desert is my second home
Great Rünenberg’ish presentation! – and I’m glad you remember the loss in our very first encounter…But no need to keep track!…ehh right!?
Btw…What did one mummy say to the other?
….”I’m feeling all tight up!”
Sorry for making up such crappy jokes…I just can’t help it
