Pure Emotions!

It is the end of a season with ups and downs. The team played some great games within the different tournaments and the series, but they lost some of them truly unlucky. But still it was a day to be there, when Rünenberg ended the season with a big farewell party to honor some of their most loyal players!

The crowd was huge, the mood was fantastic and the weather… could be better! But still it seemed that the whole region came to wave goodbye to the five players that won’t wear the kit of Rünenberg again. It was a dramatic, emotional and unforgettable scene in minute 85 of the game. Nobody was interested in the fact that the Gold Rushers won this game with 4-1 and earned the fourth place in the final table. What happened five minutes before the game ended? Well, Loïc Genhart made a substitution orgy! After he had to replace Dölf Bilon, who’s got injured after he settled his third top scorer crown, Dölf Schönmann replaced Matthias Flaig and Marian Dominguez left the pitch to give Alfred Burch the space! The game was interrupted for several minutes during a fantastic and most deserved scenery. Every single one of the leaving players got standing ovations and was forced for a lap of honor followed by “laola”, and even the supporters and the players of FC Supermanu have been involved in it!

While Dölf Schönmann (Chuormo F.C. from France), Matthias Flaig (AG SC from the Netherlands) and Marian Dominguez (K_di_kurt_c_di_cobain from Italy) have already signed their new contract, Jan Pelka is still in negotiations, but we’re sure he will find a new club too. But the most important transfer is of course the one of Alfred Burch who signed a new contract at MS Odense of Denmark yesterday! You can find here what he told the MSO Blog guys after he signed the paper. But maybe you’re also interested in the words he said before he left Rünenberg:

Alfred, these have been busy days, how does it come?

It was a strange feeling when Schluurggi came to the Golden Cup at lunch and told me that we have to talk after I have finished the meal. I never have seen something comparable during the last nine seasons, when I was a part of the Gold Rushers.

You had no idea, what he would like to talk about?

Absolutely! I finished lunch and went to his office, and he asked me to close the door. I was surprised because his door is always open. And then I couldn’t believe what he told me. Hojris has asked if I would join the team of MSO! You can’t imagine how I felt in that moment. It was somewhere in between pride and honor or was it a mix?

But as we have been informed it still took some time, before you decided to do that step?

Of course! I have played nine seasons in this team. This is a long time. As I joined the team their first season ended and they promoted to the eighth division. In the upcoming seasons we competed in the needle-eye and finally promoted to the seventh, which we rushed within one season only. We had so many great times together, especially since we joined the golden league.

And what was the main reason to take this choice?

Schluurggi was absolutely honest and told me that he planned to keep me at least one more season and see how I fit after that. Maybe there would be a place for me still, but maybe he would force me to go for another contract. Keeping this in mind, I decided to make that step now after several hours of thinking about, because I like to play the Golden League that much, and who knows where I will be a season later?

You are leaving now two weeks before the Gold Rushers could maybe win the most prestigious title. What would you like to tell the lads?

Believe in you, guys! There’s nothing more to say! I’m sure they will give whatever it takes and if they believe in what seems impossible, then it will come true!

Thank you Alfred, not only for these words but also for everything you did for the team. All the best in Denmark, and maybe we’ll meet again. Take care!

You’re welcome mate. We’ll meet again for sure!

And so one of the most loyal players left the team from Rünenberg! But as we heard, there are some negotiations to fill this gap soon!

Anniversary and more

This upcoming week is full of great happenings! First the lads will start into the third edition of the HTUM Challenge Trophy by kicking a game against Rochdale United on Monday evening. Later in the group stage they will have to play against the Swedish Ball Wizards from Blankaholm and the final game will be against the Zabardusts a.k.a. Langer House from India. Due to the known quality of these games the qualification for the quarters should be a must for the Gold Rushers.

Original Crest in the early days!

Then Manager Schluurggi told us, that there will be a big party in the Mill on Tuesday, right before the team will leave to Denmark to face Vi Flæsker jer for the next GL encounter. The reason is the third anniversary of FC Rünenberg. This Sunday, it has been three years since Schluurggi logged in for the first time and two days later he took the reins of the Swiss club who has later won three championships and promoted trice since then. The biggest success they achieved was the runner-up position in the sixth division last season, or is it the top spot in the second season of the Golden League from the very beginning?

As already mentioned the team will heading to Sønderjylland in Denmark to meet the Baconizers for the first time during this Golden League season, but it will be the sixth game against them since Manager Schluurggi signed the membership in the HTU-Managers fed. The direct comparison shows that our lads were the victorious team three times until now. It will surely be a great and probably close encounter again. Will Serge Noftziger make his twentieth save and be the first keeper who gets a second goalkeeper bonus for the GL table?

On Thursday another party will be held in Rünenberg. This time the anniversary of RJs has to be celebrated with all the schoolmates, friends and families. It took only two days to found the academy after the club was founded three years ago. The management and the whole town of Rünenberg are very proud on the success of the Juniors. They managed to win the title in the CocaCola Leag five times, and they are on their way to earn another title in the final game of the ‘in-between’ season in the Byle szybko league, which ends this Friday.

They’ll have to travel to Poland to play this game and it doesn’t matter if our talents lose this game, as long as they are able to keep the goal difference lower than seven, to win this title. Unfortunately they had big troubles to score last week otherwise they were champions already! Now RJs under the lead of Timon Blank, who is back on Friday after a little injury, have to make it in the final game. And as we know these boys, they will go out there to take it all!

And then Saturday will come and it should be the day when the Gold Rushers will at least clarify that they will be a part in this league again in the next season, maybe they will have another chance to earn the fourth place. But this depends on the result in the game between the Lions and Supermanu. Right now it looks like the whole team will be available to fight against the Tigers, even Arnold Meneske will be back as his injury was nicer than expected.

There are many things coming up to celebrate!

Over and out!

We all remember at the very beginning of this season the management of FC Rünenberg pointed out two aims to reach within the upcoming fourteen weeks: to reach the third round in the cup, at least, and to end the season within the top two, repeating the last season success.

We are now three match-days before the season’s end and we already know that both of the goals are out of reach! While the cup run ended in an unlucky second round game, which has been lost with 0-1 in extra-time, the Gold Rushers believed in their chance to be one of the top teams as long as mathematically possible, but this is over since they lost this weekend’s game against FC Yamamoto at their site. Coach Loïc Genhart told us something about his choice of using the pressing tactic in this game:

We went in that game in the knowledge that we probably won’t have a chance to win this game, because Yamamoto’s offensive department is way to strong to defend. Therefore and in hope to reach a very close result, we decided to use the pressing tactic. Even though it was the closest result in an away game against them, I have to consider that we have so much to learn in playing pressing. There shouldn’t be eight goals when a team uses this tactic.

The game started truly bad with Yamamoto taking the lead after two minutes and they raised the lead when twenty minutes have been played. But then the Gold Rushers came back into the game with their first goal, scored by Theo Horber after half an hour and the equalizer, by Norbert Leimgruber, some minutes after the break. All seemed right, but then Yamamoto put themselves up by two again within only two minutes. Ten minutes to go, Coach Genhart decided to open up and put some pressure on the opponents defence, and it should work, when Norbert Leimgruber brought his colors back into the game only one minute before the final whistle, but only a few second later the final score of 5-3 was set by Yamamoto. Maybe it was the little tactic strength, maybe it was the injury of Eugenio Cioccarelli or it was the suspension of Dölf Bilon. Anyway they lost the game and there won’t be a chance of getting in the top two anymore. Manager Schluurggi couldn’t hide that he was still disappointed even he was aware of that this could happen:

Yes, I’m disappointed and sad, but this is football. We have been lucky in the past by winning some close games, but this season lady luck left us, when we lost close games unfortunately. There have been two lost matches with big influence: the out in the cup against Gioventu and the home game against FC Ros 67. At least since we lost this game the believing in reaching our aim was only caused by hope. Somehow it’s a good thing too, to know we won’t reach our aim ‘cause now we have the possibility to focus on different things.

We tried to find out what he was talking about, but he only smiled and left the room. Maybe one of the following facts may be ‘the different thing’:

RJs are only one point away from winning the title in their in-between season in the Byle Szybko, after they have won their fourth game too. They played a fantastic game with a score-line of 4-0! Four different talents have scored the four goals. Raoul Silling opened the score and Kari Wechlin – who is now looking for a contract – raised the lead before the break. Timon Blank was responsible for the third goal before Yoann Pouly closed the scoring seven minutes before the end. We have been informed that there will be a break between the final game in this short season and the opening game in the HTUM Youth League III of ten to fourteen days. Everybody in the club is very much looking forward to join this league!

This Monday our lads will play their semi-final in the Pharaoh’s Cup against SK Sau Hlinsko. It will be a hard game to get something out of it, ‘cause the Czech team is one of the strongest teams within this cup. Hopefully our guys can put away Saturday’s game in mind.

FC iSoccer will be the host of this week’s Golden League game at Tuesday evening. It will be the first time these two teams will meet. Maybe this competition is ‘the different thing’, because the Gold Rushers are still on the top of the table and we are sure they don’t want to give that top spot away without fighting for it.
