15-7-2018 (14/68) Ghungharu FC – Mighty Karak Chai FC

Football Club Tranquebar has joined the stronger III.12 series and accepted an irresistible challenge to taken on both Mighty Karak Chai FC and Ghungharu FC in the battle for Golden League points, series championship and most of all the battle honour. No one is saying out loud but the intensity is on with Mighty Karak Chai FC being very active on transfer market and Ghungharu FC is expected to do the same very soon. The heat is on and the game will be likewise for real when Mighty Karak Chai FC and Ghungharu FC meet at King Suro Memorial Field in Bihar this sunday.

Football Club Tranquebar was challenged to join the series before this season to relive a long time rivalry with both clubs. The offer was too tempting to let go and it is time to set things straight between the three clubs. For seasons the former India Champions Mighty Karak Chai FC has been the best of the three, but lately Tranquebar has been catching up with the team from Bihar. Ghungharu FC has challenged Tranquebar for the top two position in the Tamil Nadu region and if they get the change they want to be the best golden league team in India.

From Tharangambadi the message to the opponents this season is loud and clear. Tranquebar is still going for the top spot and a return to II.series, but sees the matches with Mighty Karak Chai FC and Ghungharu FC as more than six points matches with series gold, Golden League success and honour on the line on sundays. Golden League mania has hit India’s III.12 this season and those six matches is must see attractions for all – The hunter has become the hunted.

Fun fact:
Ghungharu FC has lost all matches against Tranquebar, but the Tharangambadi lions favourite boys haven’t won a match against Mighty Karak Chai FC since september 2014.

History In The Making

Record Breaking Season

Halfway through an inspiring season also look like a record breaking season for the club and Tharangambadi Lions. 94 goals has been scored in series and cup matches so far and the same number of goals made last season. The season record is 121 goals in series and cups. A record set in our only second season, 16 season ago. With no more cup matches there is only six matches to score 27 goals and a new record, but with three of those matches being against bots the chance to make more history this season is very realistic.

New signings, talent development, an unexpected cup run and a continuing super performing Jindal is the reason for many numbers getting higher and higher for the club. We have no intention to stop here and 1½ seasons from now the aim is to be strong enough to promote to the next best level in India series and be strong enough to stay there for a long time and then it will be time for I-League

India Consolation Cup Winner

This weeks Cup win is one of the greatest achievements for Football Club Tranquebar. Stronger and greater opponents has been defeated, or at least pushed to the limit by the team from Tharangambadi, but to win a national title is something special and in the last few weeks the main aim for the clubs sporting management. The performance from the team was the 13th best ever and with many great matches played, it is a sign of things evolving the best possible way because even with 1/3 of the squad being 30+ years, the average is still below 25 – A sign of the talented squad we have assembled.

India Consolation Cup is only a third tier cup, but only a start of what’s coming. We wont go for more trophies right away, but if the chance comes, we will take it. The next step is to make the team strength better yet and we will go for at least breaking our stats record and stay over 350 in general at the end of next season – By then with a massive midfield and the work on the attacking sectors. The main aim is to do this with a squad mostly build on homegrown players. We need players like Steffen, Marusarz, Kwon, Ko, Coppens and Hussain, but only if the level of incoming transferred players are high enough to make a difference. So be sure that signings like those will be seen in a few seasons again.

Unstoppable Jindal

What can you say about Narendra ‘Khalifah’ Jindal that haven’t already been said. In the India Consolation Cup final he scored a hattrick – His third hattrick this season. two in the cup and one in the series. Overall he has scored 17 times in 16 matches this season and that is not counting tournament games and with no friendly matches so far. Followers of Tranquebar know how Jindal has scored many goals every season, still it is impressing to score 222 goals in his 406 official matches since being promoted from TTF. He is not young anymore but age 31,64 is not a higher age than he has more time to make an almost untouchable club record. If you have any doubt then look at the facts. The India Consolation Cup final is rated his 9th best of his career.

From Talent To Stardom

Through the history of Tranquebar there has been many promising talents, with some making it to the highest level. Former TTF, Tranquebar and India U20 talent Pushkal Bhardwaj now representing India NT in the current world cup. Many name can be mentioned and Rao Wattoo is one of the best and the first homegrown player of Tranquebar to pass the 100.000+ TSI. Wattoo will soon celebrate his 22nd birthday and it is as one of the clubs top players and he had been number one if the club hadn’t bought the two Hanguk NT players a few weeks ago. In the next series match Wattoo play his match number 100 for Tranquebar and the number one winger and the second best centre midfielder in the squad. Only his age was behind not getting more than two appearances for India U20, for Tranquebar he is much better than that and is part of the training plan for at least five more seasons.

This is truly a record breaking time for Football Club Tranquebar

From The Playgrounds To III.Series

Football Club Tranquebar continue to strengthen the squad as they welcome three new faces in the main squad. In the last 3 weeks the club has said goodbye to a handful of player and the fans has seen new players like Mundra, Anand, Butt, More and Sawant as representatives of their club. Today club legend Rajinikanth ‘Foggy’ Reddy presented three new players to the press. Two players with a history at Tranquebar Talent Factory – The clubs youth academy – and the last one being an India talent who did not made his breakthrough i the Czech Republics VI.series club Atletico Scooby-Doo. A failed stay in Europe wont chance the fact that the former member of I-League team 1. FC Stern Marienfelde’s youth academy can make it big and that is why Traquebar sealed the 2.2 million € deal to get Akshay Iyer to Tharangambadi.

“We are delighted to present this three players to our fans today. Pranav Burman played 32 matches for TTF and scored six goals. He has been one of the top defensive players at our academy, in a period where the team has evolved well and been a consistent top team in HTUM Division IV. Hopefully Burman can continue to keep getting better as a part of the main squad.

For a long time it has been obvious that Fajahat Babar has been a top player at the academy. Both U20 and our own staff has followed him closely in his 24 appearances for TTF. He could have played more, and scored more than the six he got. He has to learn to control his temperament from now and on. Nine yellow and 1 red card in 24 matches are way too much.

Akshay Iyer is a type of player we have been looking for, for a while. He is still very young. He is powerful and have some decent skills, even though they could be better at his age. Nevertheless we believe that he can still get a good career in the next 10 to 12 seasons. He is the prototype of the talents we are looking for. Arnand are a little older, Butt a little younger, but they are on the same level. Players we can make better quite quickly. Players who can play for many years and keep our wages down.

We look forward to see the three new players in action in both the series, in Platinum Cup and in the golden league.”

Butterfingers: More Power And Versatility

The hunt for the I-League was just a notch up in the last 7 days. Players has left the club and assistant coach, FCT legend NS ‘Butterfingers’ Nataraj used his notes from a long time transfer search to find solid India replacement, combined with enough spaces to get some more TTF talents into the main squad.

“The results this season have put us in a situation where we have been able to find better players and more talents to promote team strength and versatility. You think we can now prove that we have succeeded in the project, even in a way that we have had to divorce with some other highly promising talents, including Ram Kumble, who was otherwise an outstanding goalkeeper. However, we have chosen to replace him with our former leader and goalkeeper from our youth team. It is clear that Tanvir Datta has far the same strength in the goal as Kumble, but as teams we have been greatly strengthened, both now and now, but also far out in the future, “the club told the legend when we met him to talk about it Latest transfer activity from the club in Tharangambadi.

Gone are now players who have really made a good impression on the club’s Hungarian head coach Miklós Menyhárt, but then there was a chance to get Raju Mundra to the club two weeks ago, so set another search for bettors and stronger players to the squad. “Our focus has been on getting good players with Indian passports. At the same time it has been important that they should be able to reinforce the team even more compared to those who have left the club. We have also made serious thoughts about how the squad looks like About three to four seasons, how important players start and think of retirement. Economically, it’s pretty much when we take the trades after Raju Mundra came to the club, so it means we still have a reasonable economy while having a weekly profit. So that’s really positive what we’ve done, “says Butterfingers.

Tranquebar – A talented club, though a bit in a stalemate after the relegation of II.series for a couple of seasons ago. The plans to get in the I-League and make a difference have always been there, but talent development takes time and it has been trying to find the right composition of the team. The club now believes that one has received and that in the long term only incoming trades will have to get the team up at a level where a position between the 8-12 best clubs in the country can be seriously discussed.

“We’ve always had some shortcomings. As we were in the second best series, as it was, we had a solid squad, but economically, it cost us a lot of economics, while we had too few of our own talents in the squad We could have been in the division, but with the talent we had on our way, we took the hard choice and moved down. It was completely conscious and we do not regret our action. Today the squad consists of a group of club legends that Still continues to impress and I still see players like Jindal, Samal and Tamil Warrior as incredibly important players who will be here for a long time. When we look at the young players, we have some of the country’s greatest talents in terms of age and Positions. Wattoo, Karve and Katam are all players who have a big influence on the squad and it will continue to be like that for many years to come. We have yet another talent on the rise – Fajahat Babar has just signed a pro contract with us and he will be promoted to the main squad next. He has a long way to go, but we believe in him and U20 has noticed his talent a long time ago. Hopefully he will be just as promising as our other playmaking talents.

Most often we have been weak in 2 parts of the field. Now, with certainty, we are only weak on the goalkeeper’s position. On the rest of the field we are fully covered, even with two to three injured players, if that happens – Like it is know with Tamil Warrior and Bokil out of action. It also means now we want players on the bench that can make a difference when they get on the pitch. This applies to the defense, the midfield, on the wing, as in the attack. In addition to our good talents, as I mentioned earlier, we have now got a few solid wingbacks in the mid 20s that only get better because they are part of the training plan. In Raju Mundra we have got a player on a level as we are also working to reach our biggest talent as a minimum. Raju is already a marvellous player, despite his young age, whom we willing to give the money for as we did. Already now he has a strength to a much better series and he only gets better in the next many seasons. I think it’s only Michael Gajadin we can compare with him of everyone in the club right now and they will both be significant characters in both series.II and I-League in the Future. No doubt”Butterfingers says, adding that the positive stories are not over yet.

In addition to a one-half season when Dhanvade returned to the club, Bokil and Jindal have been the only real attackers in the squad again three to four seasons. Tranquebar has otherwise been known for having a lot of promising talents, but since Dhanvade’s time at TTF, and the first time in the Tranquebar squad, there have only been Bokil and Jindal. Both players are around the 30s now, and although they have been looked at attackers often, the club has not been able to find the rich in terms of where they are in development compared with age. It’s finally happened and Butterfingers is more than happy with the purchases. “The pursuit of reasonable attacking talents in a reasonable price range has seemed infinite, but now it looks like FCT are through whit that project after the purchases of Dhanesh Anand and Omar Butt. Dhanesh is not as young as we would have liked, but he is a reasonable talent at a good price, and one can say that he comes to the club at the very right time. His talent has not been maintained correctly, but we believe that it can still be set back on track and he will match strength of those we already had in the squad quickly. They have done well, and we believe Dhanesh will do that too. Omar is our latest purchase and we consider him a bit of a scoop. He is a three years younger than Dhanesh. He is already at the same level and have a couple of U20 matches on his resume so he surely have the talent to become a great player. We have not bought him to have a U20 career, but nevertheless there has already been a small conversation about Omar with U20. The training he will receive is not optimal for his talent, but he may still be an asset for both our club U20. With his very young age and skills, his development will be very exciting to follow in the coming seasons” Butterfingers concluded before his phone rang and he had to leave this interview in a hurry. Maybe to scout more new talents to the club. Who knows?

New Kits, New Squad And One Homecoming

In the weekend Football Club Tranquebar won the first trophy in six seasons, when Kirkiri united was defeated by 2:0 at their stadium. The did not only give Tranquebar the championship trophy of III.10 but also a direct promotion to II.series for the very first time. A promotion the club has haunted for a long time. Now it is a reality and the club will soon be a top 40 team in the country and also have a chance to once again be the top team in the Tamil Nadu region.

Club president Yannis Kotakis is celebrating the best season in the clubs history so far, but he is also aware of the the strong opponents and the though times his club will be facing very soon. “We have had tremendously good season with reaching the quarterfinal in the golden league and the narrow defeat to Warriors Of Sahura. We also went of in India Cup by a narrow defeat to this seasons runner-up in I-League. ForeverIndia was forced to play 113 minutes before they could score against us and we had no losses in the 4th best III.series in the country. We have been successful from my point of view” He said.

Now it is time to look forward. “The jump for III to II.series is huge regarding the power of the squads, so we had a lot of thinking to do lately. Will we give it a try or make changes? In the end the decision was easy to take. We have a huge amount of big talents at Tranquebar Talent Factory and we have learned in recent seasons that homegrown players are the way to make a strong team. That is why we have decided to sellout and concentrate on talents and getting a even better economy. At the moment we are trying to assemble an almost all Indian squad, with only the coach and Krusøe as foreign members. It will for sure make us one of the biggest relegation candidates next season, but we do it only to make a quick return to II.series and continue our way toward I-League” Kotakis said, before announced Sky Sports as the new kit sponsor and gave the word to team captain Samal.

“We have been waiting for this challenge for a long time” Samal started, and added “Some of us have been a part of this development from the start and to see new young faces like Roa Wattoo do so well is fantastic. I give us some hope on making the goal to reach I-League as a strong team in a future not that far away. Tamil warrior, Jindal, Bokil and myself want to make it to the promised land and i am positive about reaching the goal. For now it is a matter of serious development and we will all contribute with the best we have, in good time as in bad times” The captain said before president Kotakis presented one of the new players in the club.

Not that he is that new to the club. Tranquebar has signed a new contract with one of the biggest talents coming out of Tranquebar Talent Factory. After leaving the club at the start of the season Sahasya Dhanvade is back in Tharangambadi. “I am so happy to be back in the club that scouted me at age 15. This is where i want to be. I only played one match before i was sold. Now i am back almost one year older. Better as a player and ready to fight for a spot in the starting eleven” Dhanvade said with a big smile on his face and reviled. “Coach Menyhárt told me that i am one of the players he want to give a push in the right direction. Hopefully i can live up to it by getting better and score a lot of goals”.

The young talent Pandi Rajkumar was also present and is delighted to renew his old partnership with Dhanvade on the field. “We grew up together and was a striker duo at the academy when we both arrived here. He is a good player and a great talent. Together we might be able to once again play in the attack. this time against the best players in the country. It will be a lot of fun and i am sure that if Jindal and Bokil are out of action, we can step up and make our fans cheer. One thing is important for me to say though. We don’t come here to replace any, we come here to join forces with club legends and to continue the history of wins and celebration that surrounds this club”.

Part Of The New Core 1

For many seasons Tranquebar has been build around four homegrown players. The Tamil Warrior, Captain Samal, Bokil and the scoring machine Jindal has been the core of the Tranquebar squad. Many players has tried to follow in the footsteps of the fab four from Tharangambadi, but they have not succeeded. Soon it will be time for yet another new season and if Tranquebar win the away match on Sunday, next season will be the first in II.series and it will also be with a handful of new faces from the local area.

“We are very happy with our new squad” coach Miklós Menyhárt said after yesterday’s exit to The Warriors Of Sahura. “We lost this match, but has proven that we are strong enough to be a part of golden league masters. We have matched Sahura with many homegrown players playing these two match and in the end we only lost 2:3 against a very strong opponent. Pandi Rajkumar played a good match yesterday and last week Rao Wattoo was playing like a pro. We are very satisfied” He said after today’s training.

Rajkumar and Wattoo was on the training ground today and they got company from one of their buddies from Tranquebar Talent Factory. “We are happy to announce that we have signed a contract with Sunil Karve” the coach said about the new young powerful player showing up at the beginning of the training. “Sunil is a talent with a lot of power in his game and we have known for a while that we would like for him to stay in the club. Now it has been signed and we now have 8 homegrown players in the squad in the coming season. All of them are either good enough as of now or their talent is so good that we have decided to build our future squad around them. To keep fighting our way to I-League with so many of our own talents is a dream come true, but they can’t do it alone. That is why we in the last week have signed new young players to complete the squad. Dalan Qorin and Baasan Arslan from Mongolia is still young and at a stage where we can make them even better players and then we are happy to have signed Erlendur Krusøe from the Faeroe Islands. We believe these 3 players will supply our homegrown players very well and we see them as future I-League players” he said.

The club is expected to sign two new homegrown players at the end of next season. ocal medias speculate in those two being the technical winger Sumeet Singh and defender Rohan Johnsen. Coach Menyhárt, Assistant Rajinikanth ‘Foggy’ Reddy or talent scout Manoj ‘Punjabi Tiger’ Prabhu has any comments about those speculations. We just wanna keep our focus on becoming one of the top 40 teams in the country as of now” club legend Foggy said before leaving the press to train the players.

Relegation? But Ambitions Is Still Very High.

Yesterday Tranquebar lost 3:6 but don’t be fooled by the result. Tranquebar had a chance to take the win in the first 90 minutes. It was only in extra time that the always strong Krosnianka Karpaty Krosno ran with the victory. “Tamil Warrior”, and two of our youngest strikers, Patel and “Fireball” Lakkireddy scored the goals for the pride of Tharangambadi.

“A loss is not always bad” “Tamil Warrior” was quoted for after the match. “KKK has always been, and still is, a strong opponent and one we never would have though we could push to the limited. We did this week. Now we must use the best from that match and take it with us in Sunday’s match against Souvik’s WIzards” He said. Tranquebar and the Wizardz will collide at Fort Dansborg this coming Sunday. The winner will get a qualifying match to stay in the the league. The loser will relegate!

“We truly believe that we are to good a team to relegate, but we know that it can become a reality later this week” team captain Narottam Samal told the press yesterday. “We have been unlucky in a game or two, but we also know that we haven’t been strong enough to be a real test for British Invasion and Langer House this season. We must change that to accomplish our main aim – To become a main factor in the India leagues”. Samal refuse to make remarks about injuries being the main reason for Tranquebar’s poor season. “Nah! We must be strong enough to play without one or two of our best players from time to time. It must not be an excuse for the lack of good results this season”.

The former The Bad Bergamot Seeds star Pierpaolo Badocchi is one of 3 new players coming from the Italian team this season. He did not think that relegation would be an issue at the end of the season, but that wont ruin the transfer to India. “Relegation wasn’t even in my thoughts but i am realistic and the table don’t lie at this stage of the season. We are ready to fight Sunday and again two weeks from now in a qualifying match, but if we loose on Sunday we will take it like men and relegate without excuses. If it happen, we will take one step back to take two or three forward next season. I have high ambitions and the club has them too. I came here to fight for trophies, but not IV trophies. If we go down. We will keep getting better as a team and return to III one season from now and we will be stronger than ever”.

Coach Denis Christinat agree with Baddocchi. “We have very high ambitions and we believe that we belong among the teams of III.10. We want even more and have our sights set on II and I-League in the future. We have a talented squad with an average age beneath 21½ years, so we have far from seen the best of Tranquebar yet. The team will get better next season, no matter if we play in III or IV. We also have a new season of Golden League coming and we want to better next season than we did this season”.

On The Right Track Toward I-League

“Last season we got a perfect start to the season. This season we have to fight in every game, but make no mistake about it. We are on the right track and we will succeed” according to The Tharamgambadi Local, these are the words from one of the more quiet stars of the Tranquebar squad – Sudeep Bokil. The 23 years old Winger has been a part of the main squad since October 6th, 2013. Bokil is one of the most experienced players in the club with 114 games on his record list.

“Last week won against the now former leaders of the league – British Invasion. A good team, but we also proved that our loss against Souvik’s WIzards, the week before, was a mistake. We knew it from the start though. This season wont be as easy as last season. Last season our opponents underestimated Football Club Tranquebar. That is not an issue this season. They know our weaknesses now, but if they forgot our stronger sides, they were warned last Sunday” Bokil told the journalist from the local newspaper.

This week another tough opponent await the boys from Tharangambadi. The strongest team in the league and this weeks leader BLACK ALLIANCE-‘endecy of will host the game at Ìmpërial Diabolos Dragön Dome. A game that wont be easy if you ask Sudeep Bokil. “The Alliance was strong last season and we took a big beating in the game at their ground last season. 5:1 was the result” Bokil said. He was the lone Tranquebar goal scorer in that game. “We didn’t stand a chance in that match. They wanted revenge for the 1:1 match at Fort Dansborg. They got it. They really did. This Sunday we must enter the Dragon Dome and defend much better than the last time and we must also dare to attack when we get the chance” his said.

The alliance won 4:0 away against Langer House last week. That gives the respect they want from Tranquebar. “We will try to surprise them with hard work and by being opportunistic in our attacks, but they are huge favorites. Even though we want to win end perform at our best every week. We do know that we are still building a team strong enough to make it to I-League. I am sure we will make it and i truly believe that i will still be a part of the squad, when it happens. We have a good midfield for now and many very talented attacking players in our squad. The economy is very solid. I think we can say that we are on the right track, and it doesn’t matter if our future opponents will be The Alliance, Langer House or The Mighty Karak Chai FC. We will succeed and make it to the promised land – The I-League. We are on the right track” Bokil said befor he was asked about an end result for this weekends encounter.

“You wont get a result from me, but i can se both myself and Karve as goal scorers in this game. We wont go down easy this time” he said.

Florescu, Tomas Florescu

The sixth season in the history of Football Club Tranquebar is coming to an end. It has been the most successful season til now. A lot of luck and 15 league goals from Narendra ‘Khalifah’ Jindal was some of the reasons for the unexpected season result. The sporting management is pleased with the results the players has produced, but minor changes is needed. The key players will stay and keep on being the foundation of the club. Others has left or might leave in the coming days.

One of the new faces, to help Jindal and Tranquebar next season is Tomas Florescu. The 19 years old striker was with The Flaming Wodkas FC / Raszkow Revival for two seasons and he has now packed his bags and is a part of the team from Tharangambadi in India. Tomas’ start in the club has been great and yesterday he scored twice in the 3:0 HTUM Platinum Cup win against a strong The Bad Bergamot Seeds team. He also managed to scored his first official goal for the club in the last league match of the season.

“Tomas is a quick striker and it was something we needed in our squad. He fit perfectly into our plans and he will become a good striker and a valuable player for us in the future. Today he showed us that he has the abilities to score against good teams. The Bad Bergamot Seeds is a title contender here in HTUM Platinum Cup. Thomas did very well for us. Both he and the club is happy about his arrival to the club” coach Denis Christinat told the press after the game last night.

The new bomber was happy to contribute to the win and his new teammates. “It was a good win for us and i was happy to be able to help the team to victory against a strong opponent. I am happy to be with Tranquebar. There is many good players here and the fight for the three positions in the attack is tight. Bolshakov, Bokil and naturally Jindal is a big part of the team foundation. Patel and Mondol are good talents, so i have to fight ans stay fit to play league games next season. I will try and do my best to be in the starting lineup every Sunday” the Romanian talent told the press last night.

Tranquebar back in Top 4

After 3 big league defeats to the top 3 teams Tranquebar returned things around and won 3:1 in the important match against Souvik’s WIzards. The Wizards from Kolkata had stated that they would end i top 4 this season, but with only two games left to play, Tranquebar is the team making it into top 4 and with a good chance of making top 3 at the end of the season.

37337 spectator has shown up at Fort Dansborg to follow they local heroes and the players from Tharangambadi did not disappoint. Wizard got an early goal but from then and on it was the home teams big midfield and the top score who made the difference. Muhino and Cubillo played the winger positions and Tamil Warrior, captain Samal and Bolshakov. In the attack season top scorer Narendra Jindal had Karve and Bokil as partners upfront, but it was almost like he didn’t need them.

Jindal scored again – Not once but twice, before Bolshakov ended all hopes for the wizards with his goal in the 58th minute. While Bolshakov has had a season with only a few goals, Jindal has been on fire from day one and scored his 15 and 16 goal of the season – 13 of them the former TTF talent has scored in league games and he top the list with two games to go.

“Yes i am playing well this season and have been lucky too. I would like to be top score of this league, but even more i would like a win next Sunday because that might give us 3rd place at the end of the season and i think we deserve it. We have been underdogs all season and we got some good results. Only one more needed to make it big in debut season on this level. We wont take British Invasion lightly though. They are a strong team, but we have played against such all season. Wizards has done well made good transfers. Langer House is up in the right gear now and are very strong. Black Alliance and Gladiators are extremely powerful teams so to be up here so close to the end of the season is great. We might only be ranked 6th best on powers in this league, but we have proven to be a strong and difficult opponent for many teams this season” Jindal said after the match.
