Greenpoint United Football Club’s home ground, Monitor Park, pays homage to the USS Monitor ironclad warship, which was built in Greenpoint and was first launched from the site on which the stadium sits today. The stadium features beautiful views of Midtown Manhattan and the Empire State Building from its location on the banks of the East River.

Outside of the stadium’s entrance sits a bronze model of the USS Monitor ship, honoring those who fought in the Civil War.
