Jenever 3-3 Dirkenveen, Two Games Left, Championship Still Possible

Jenever lost their joined table leadership, as they drew against Dirkenveen and Flevo Kings won. Jenever are now two points behind the Kings, the race for the championship continues…

Finally the Mouterij was nearly filled, 38,544 spectators came to Schiedam to visit Jenever’s home match against Dirkenveen. The players remembered the first game this season against them so well, losing 5-1. The Gins started very well and wanted nothing less than a win, Alexandru Sulea and John Burke brought Jenever up in front before halftime (2-1).

After the tea, Dirkenveen were revived and within ten minutes they drew back and even took the lead. New signing Lammer Friebel had saved the best for last, when he rifled in the late equalizer in the 82nd minute to give Jenever the well earned point, which keeps them in track of Flevo Kings.

Next Sunday Jenever will visit Kerkike, and then the final game they will host Flevo Kings the week after. Hopefully that one will be a cracker and one that will decided on the new League Champion…
