Yesterday; MS Odense got their 2 win in a row in the prestigious Golden League tournament and has proven that the new strategy isn’t bad at all. The young squad with more than a handful of homegrown players, a handful of young talents from around the world combined with an experienced midfield has proved itself over the last 9 days, with 2 Golden League wins and a very entertaining 4-6 league game at MS Park, against a much stronger opponent.
“We know, there won’t be many victories this season and first of all we need to enjoy the ones coming. We have to find the joy and excitement in the things happening outside the stadiums at this time. What happens on the training ground, keeping our self on track with the long term strategy and the economic evolution is what really means something at this time, and we are very happy to see that it is all going like we expected”
- Hojris, MSO Manager
Yesterdays 1-0 victory against wasn’t without problems though. Coach Kotakis failed to setup the perfect tactic for the game against FC X-Team and the game got closer as expected because of a counterattack strategy that was far from needed against the Romanian visitors but still Koos ‘B-52′ Van Amsterdam managed to score another goal and secure the win. The goal from B-52 makes him the clubs top scorer with 5 goals so far this season, one more than EC10 and Jelko Indihar.
“My mistake could have cost us the win against FCX, but luckily our strikers is strong this season and Koos saved us yesterday. Coming from 2 games where we have scored 9 goals against 2 very good opponents it was a little disappointing to only get 3 chance at home, but i have to take the blame for not showing our fully potential yesterday. One thing i can be more than happy about is that our strikers once again proven that you can’t take them lightly. We have 5 men for the positions as strikes and I’m sure that Psyc and Jørn will follow the 3 others and be able to score more goals very soon – B-52, EC10 and Jelko has shown what they are capable of doing already”
- Kotakis, MSO Coach
It seems like the departure of Skytte and Lamhauge didn’t have an impact of the performance of MS Odense. Actually Lamhauge was a part of the opposite team yesterday, and was voted best FCX player of the match, but the former MSO defender could not stop B-52 from making the deciding goal after only 8 minutes of play. The departure of the two defenders makes Goldenboy, Paolo Baggio, the man with most played games in Odense. The 19 years old goalkeeper, who played as a defender yesterday, will play his match number 48 in the striped jersey, when Odense takes on FC Stolberg later this week
– Next on the list is Jelko Indihar who will play his match number 35 for MSO, the next time he steps onto the field. The replacements of Skytte and Lamhauge is the 2 youngsters Isaac Estoles and Antonio E. P. Ribeiro. the 18 years old Spaniard Estoles is considered to be an outsider for Spain’s U20 later on and 17 years old Antonio is a very fine talent, who’s already a decent midfield with a great future in front of him. According to players agent Peter Ivarsson Estoles is the one shinning at this moment.
“Isaac, we believe, is the 2nd greatest talent we have ever bought and our hope is that he will become just as big a player for us like Paolo has become. We have no doubt that he has the abilities and now we have to evolve these and make him the star of the defense in front of Paolo. When it comes to Antonio you haven’t seen nothing yet! He has the potential to become one of the most important players on the team. There is no doubt, that if he can keep injuries on a distance and continue to improve his skills, he will be the player to join Psyc and EC10 on the midfield, when they are fully trained. I think the future of this team looks very promising with Jørn and Antonio being younger copies of Psyc and EC10 – I’m very sure that these 4 players will feed our young strikers with numerous chance, only 3-3½ seasons from now. When you talk about a future with Psyc and EC10 you have to think about Jørn and Antonio too”
- Peter Ivarsson, MSO Players agent
Next up for MS Odense is the very difficult league games against FC Stolberg and a friendly against the German team Chanti.

He he. Lucky me that i got Lamhauge, otherwise it would have been worst.
Exciting times for MSO – I’m really enjoying reading about the development of the team and its rebuild, incorporation of new talents and the enthusiasm you have for its ensured future success – it’s inspiring. Keep it up.
Things look good! It’s nice to see that you try to get a decent amount of home-grown players into your team. I am doing that too but my home-grown players haven’t achieved much fame over the weeks they have been in my senior squad.
