Baggio’s Big Night

Did you expect a blog with big words and promises Friday night? Well it wouldn’t have been unusual for MS Odense to act like that when good things happen. This time we act different though and hopefully it also show just a bit of some seriousness on our behalf. Last Friday ‘Goldenboy’ Paolo Baggio rushed to Hampden in Scotland to represent his country and he was among the manager chosen eleven against Kenya. Only a few hours before the game ‘Goldenboy’ was elected into the squad and with his place in the starting lineup he played his NT game number 4 at the age of 25½.

“We are proud and also a little humble by Baggio’s apperences Friday night” Club president Scavo said when it was a reality that MS Odense had a player on a national team for the first time. “We knew that he was a contender in the future but see him both in the squad and then on the field at Hampden was a special moment for a minor club like ours. Baggio’s comeback in Odense has been great and he has preformed very well as we expect from him. Maybe that is why he got the chance” said Scavo. Who doesn’t think his goalkeeper will get more games in a near future. “We have to be patience. Work hard and steady to reach the goal and make Baggio Scotland’s number one goalkeeper. It will take a long time and we need some luck to make it happen. We will try though” Scavo said.

The man himself is taking it easy and keeps his feet on the ground. “It was really nice to be a part of the team again and luckily we got the win. I was satisfied with my performance and hopefully it will give me a chance to either play or be on the bench this week when we play Brazil at Campo do Flor. We have to wait and see what happens. The choice is the managers alone. I can only play the best i can and hope it is enough” was the words from Goldenboy Paolo Baggio – MS Odense’s first national player and he was also the clubs first U20 player.

The Great Wall Of Odense

2 weeks has gone since Goldenboy Paolo Baggio made his return to Odense after 5 seasons back home in Scotland. The return of the prodigal son has given the opportunity to play a different role in the golden league as well as in the danish league and cup. Hattrick News Odense has had a talk with Odense president Scavo about what seems to be a return to something recognizable. A strong experienced squad with Baggio as the main player in the squad. Something the club also did when they bought a 17 years old Paolo Baggio 8 seasons ago. “We paid a lot of money to get Baggio back to Odense. The goldenboy himself coast most of our money and then we had to get some players to help us and Baggio to reach the aims we have for both the club and Baggio in the future” Scavo said and continued. “We know the way of the game when we are out on a long-term mission like this. We tried it the first time Baggio was here and we will try again. What i am talking about is the hope for Baggio to become a part of Scotland NT. Both Baggio and MSO know that it is a long shot and there is no guarantees. It is a wish all 3 parts has and we know what to do to try and make it happen” Scavo said.

Goldenboy’s return to MS Park cost the club over 7 million dollars and another 2½ millions to make a fairly strong squad based on training Baggio and also be a serious opponent for the many clubs they play against. “When Baggio was here last time., We took him to the U20 level and our teams foundation was with a strong experienced midfield and attack. This time we have set our focus on the defense. A very strong defense that is. A defense we like to call the great wall of Odense. Baggio and a handful of experienced defenders is our big defensive line with defensive stats at a level we never have reach in the club before. You can also call our new defense and Baggio for a bulwark. They will be ready to resist even the biggest ships for most of the games. We have seen that recently with the games against FC Prague Silvers and Polomit. Yes we have lost the games but they are teams much better than us. But we have fought hard in both games and our opponents has to give their best to get the wins. We expect all teams to have to do so. Even Krosnianka Karpaty Krosno and AFC Wirschtlstand – 2 Other very strong teams we expect to collide with soon” Scavo said.

Tomorrow will see Odense in a league match with little interest of the Odense club president. “Right now we will get Baggio in a perfect shape and try and get him closer to Scotland NT. At the start of next season will will also focus on getting some more wins than this season. A season that might have been the poorest in 15 seasons or so. When looking at winning streaks. Streaks who has been nowhere near Odense this season. That will chance next season. We believe and are positive about the great wall of Odense will earn us many points next season” was the last words form mr Scavo.

A Classic In The Making

“Goldenboy Paolo Baggio and Charlie Boy Charles Colbourne are big golden league names. They belong among names like Mikael Llosa, Sebastian Szolc and Rastislav Jelínek. Next week golden leagues best goalkeepers ever collide for the first time when Rochdale United host MS Odense at Springfield Park. 7 HTU Awards, 29 U20 games and 3 NT games are their accomplishments together. A meeting like that is a must follow. It is a classic in the making” Odense President Scavo told the local press in Odense after it had been reviled that MS Odense in the Greater Manchester area Tuesday evening.

“It will be like the master versus the apprentice. Like Rolling Stones versus The Beatles” the Odense boss continued. “These two goalkeepers won a HTU Award after season 46,47,48,49,50,51 and 52. The first 3 to Goldenboy. The last 4 went to Charlie Boy. Both players has international experience and still they are just 25 years old. There is no doubt that they are quality players and together they will take this game to a higher level” Scavo said. Goldenboy made his return to Odense earlier this week after five seasons with Scottish team Wolverine Blues. The 7,2 million dollar deal gave Goldenboy comeback at MS Park yesterday when Odense lost 0:1 to Park The Bus.

The Scottish goalkeeper formerly known as ‘The next big thing’ haven’t said much since his return but tonight he took his time to talk to the press about his comeback, the game against Rochdale and his future plans. “When i signed the contract with Scavo Sunday evening i realized that i have the record for clean sheets in Odense and i am still top 15 for players with most games in the beautiful white and blue stripe shirt. It is good to be back even though we lost yesterday. Now we must work hard on the training ground to keep getting better get some better results” Goldenboy said. He was asked about next weeks clash against Rochdale and Charles Charlie Boy Colbourne.

“Rochdale are a good team and they had some interest in signing me, but when Scavo called my agent i knew i was going back to a club i know very well. I am sure that i would have done great in Rochdale too though. They have a great coach and training facilities. I am sure they will be though to beat next season and many things relay on me for Odense to win. I know. Charlie Boy will also be quite a handful to handle for our strikers too. He is an excellent goalkeeper” Goldenboy said and continued to answer the questions from the journalists.

“Yes i am back in Odense to stay and also to make some dreams come true. I want to win more Awards. I want to win more trophies with Odense and i want to be the number one goalkeeper in Scotland. I want to play in the World Cup before my career end. I know it is a lot of big wishes. It will demand 100% hard work and dedication the next eight to ten seasons. I am willing to try though and it is why i am back here in Odense. To make my dreams come true”.
