6 years worth of SEN by smittyroos

Hello Everyone..

smittyroos is my HT username, and Smitlick is my HT Club and this is my take on HT, the SEN olden days and bits and pieces about me… Enjoy!

During my mid teens I realised/discovered that I was pretty much nocturnal. It was probably about 2006 so 6 years ago now or about 14/15 yrs old that I first discovered SEN 1116 which is amazing because anybody that knows me knows I love sport and discovering SEN was amazing. I really started listening to it later in the day and eventually stumbled across the OWAAT crew. I was really into listening to the guys and really enjoyed Luke & Mark as hosts. They of course spruiked their love for Hattrick and through them I joined Jan 14 2007.

Obviously by the progress shown by my HT team I’ve never really gotten fully into focusing on progressing my team to much but I always check up and keep on going with it plus HT Supporter makes it far easier to do these things so lazily. Even more so when you compare me to Guy’s who started at a similar time like zam (zambora) or dave (dave3889) and how well they’ve done in comparison.

To show how poorly I read the original start up at HT, my original team name was meant to be the Smittyroos and for my username to login to be Smitlick. Clearly the reverse happened which is why my Youth team is called Smittyjoeys.

Either way back then there was a forum that SEN had or maybe just OWAAT with a creamy sorta layout which eventually evolved into the white layout OWAAT Forums which is where I got really invested in the show and managed to get in contact with a really great guy who mentored me through a heap of stuff in my early HT days. Of course he is known as VimFuego. A great man who at one time dropped off of HT but eventually returned. I’ve sadly dropped out of contact with him due to not using MSN anymore but he was nice enough to put up with my hundreds of pesky questions for advice and help with my HT team when it was first starting up. A big thank you goes out to Vim if he’s reading this.

Other then the great man Vim, my other memories of the OWAAT Forums are all pretty embarassing looking back on such things as I’ve matured a tad since my teens and cringe at the few memories I have of what I was posting and such back then. Either way sadly the forums died due to from memory a virus or someone hacking them. This and the guys not doing the show anymore basically killed all interest in SEN beside the ‘Four Diegos’ (another show that aired on SEN 1116 at the time…) for a while so sadly I’ve since stopped listening.

I’m pretty certain that while the OWAAT forums were still alive the introduction of the Youth Leagues came in and I managed to grab myself a spot in the league. At the time it was a great idea because the league could have its scores read out ‘On Air’ during OWAAT. The bad part was that once OWAAT finished up the time for the games really made no sense so thankfully they changed.

Sadly the OWAAT league died off for me a few seasons back when there just wasn’t a new league being made but before then I had a run of like 4 or 5 league title wins in a row and I proclaim myself as the greatest youth team in the whole SEN leagues history. Sadly since then my interest in the Youth Team has wained a little plus there’s a real lack of good pulls coming in nowadays and there’s still a lot of things I really don’t like about the whole scouting system. The biggest part being that even if you tell your scout to go get a keeper they’ll do the opposite or they’ll give you no-bodies with max weak potential.

Fast forward a little bit and I got a message from Wozza (WozzaNoski) asking me to join the SEN Fed as he knew I was an old member of the forums. Through that I occasionally scour through the fed for thoughts and advice but sadly not as much as I’d like to.

Apart from the whole HT love was the social and sports conversations that would occur thanks to OWAAT.

Through the forums I was able to participate in various tipping competitions and the rather awesome Tennis Dreamteam thingy’s we do for the Grand Slams. As a big tennis fan and competitive player this was definitely one of the highlights. They also introduced me to Dreamteam and Supercoach for the AFL. Neither of which I’ve ever gotten fully into or understand overly well but both of which I still play, sorta like my HT Team.

When I was first approached with this idea of writing this down, I had so many ideas and probably should’ve written it down straight away so I’ll apologise for this complete mess of a blog with thoughts all over the place and poor grammar. Anyway getting past my poor writing I’d like to lastly thank Mark & Luke for pushing HT on air and influencing me to join up.

I’d like to again thank Vim for everything he helped me with. I’d also like to thank everyone at the old OWAAT forums (guys like Dave, Zam etc) who put up with my good self and everyone at the current fed for any advice that they’ve ever given. Lastly a big thank you to Woz for the opportunity to write this crazy mess of thoughts. And to tie everything together and show the nocturnalness (making up words) of my life, I’ve just finished writing this at 3:47am on a Sunday Morning.

Anyone who’d like to contact me can do so through my team Smitlick (76829). Any feedback is appreciated and any further questions are welcomed.

Cheers from smittyroos.

About WozzaNoski

Pills, Needles, Liquids, Powders and Tobacco's... arnt they all just great!? haha ;p I'm just a simple guy trying to make his way in life, and battles against the tide of a mortgage, bills, car costs, grocery costs and just anything else that involves damn money! haha But I love hanging out with the boys, doing the whole family thing... and meeting new people.. As For Hattrick... WozzaNoski began his Hattrick Career back in November 2008 (Season 25) under the username of "biggwozz" after weekly niggles from close friends + Poker Mates (leeny63 + SlyTel) who Introduced him to the Game we all love Hattrick.org! The Original Club Team Name was Woz's Terrorists which started in + spent 3.5 Seasons in VI.79 where they Won it Twice before being Promoted to Div V.93 where they spent another 3 Seasons in that.. Winning + Promoting from Once thus far... The username "biggwozz" was quickly changed to WozzaNoski to give a more appropriate Soccer name.. Div V was where WozzaNoski finally came to grips with the Forums + a decent Training Regime, the result of such Forum usage contributed to "forced name changes" to what they are now.. (Woz's Fanatics / Somerville Super Stadium).. Since that time the Fanatics have built a Solid Fan Base + a Young up & coming Squad full of various potential National Team Players for the Future + a Stockpile of Great Coaches! WozzaNoski has also been a Significant Contributor to the SEN 1116 Fans Federation here in Melbourne/Victoria & he alone has Increased the Members base after a Recruitment Drive in January 2011.. from 9 when he re-joined in December of 2010 to what it is now which is a Healthy & Vibrant 73! + is Recognised as 1 of the Largest Feds in all of Oceania! Much time has passed for our Team and Myself as a Manager in HT, thus another recent team name change, to Evil Penguins Inc. and another drop back down from Div IV down to Oceanian Div V! EVIL Penguins Inc. currently reside in V.123.. the 86th ranked Div V in all of Oceania.. This is their 2nd Season back down in Div V, after the first Season Finishing in 2nd Spot! Unfortunately again they sit 2nd on the table + hence will be staying down to Div V for some lengthy Camping/Hoarding of Cash ready for a Future Tilt at Div's 3 + 2 + the Pacific Premier! 1 thing to note is.. where-ever WozzaNoski goes, Controversy Always Follows!
