Sunday afternoon saw AS Uijeongbu 07 host specialSDY at Waegari Park in a match many expected to be overflowing with goals. The home side were on a run of twelve competitive matches with only a single loss — against Soulstar FC in the Korea Cup — while the visitors were struggling near the foot of the table; probably not a surprise for a bot team.
A failed long shot by Ki-Tak Kim was not the best of starts, but goals from Koryo-saram Hyungwu Park, Turkish Inquisitor Aybars Uysal, and Azeem’s favorite player (Hasan Muhammed) presented Au7 with a three goal lead at halftime. Unfortunately, Aybars was shown a red card 60 minutes into the match for ‘viciously shoving’ an opposing player in the back.
Will Smith probably wishes robots went down that easily ...
While the official match report states that Aybars was ejected for the seriousness of his offense it’s worth noting that Jung-Chul Kim was seen training at specialSDY’s ground in full health the following morning. One can’t help but feel that this was preferential treatment from the referee. The Turkish defender and free-kick specialist will be unavailable for next week’s fixture against LiverFC — another bot team as coincidence would have it. Looks like he’ll have to sit that one out with a tub of chocolate ice cream and a copy of I, Robot for company!

I was surprised, but it was the perfect time to get a red card … playing against a bot when the next competitive match is also against a bot.
Have you thought of sending a formal complaint to you federation? That referee’s behavior was really bad.
