Thiago Motta is set to make key changes to his starting lineup for Wednesday’s Champions League clash against PSV, with both Manuel Locatelli and Lloyd Kelly expected to return to the starting XI. However, Douglas Luiz will not be making the trip to the Netherlands with the rest of the Juventus squad.
The Bianconeri head into the second leg of their Champions League play-off tie against PSV with a slight advantage, leading 2-1 after last week’s first leg in Turin. Juventus is currently on a strong run, having won four consecutive matches – their longest winning streak since Motta took over at the start of the season. This includes a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Serie A champions Inter in the Derby d’Italia on Sunday.
In that match, Locatelli was left out of the starting lineup, with Khephren Thuram and Teun Koopmeiners preferred in midfield. Meanwhile, Kelly was replaced by Nicolo Savona at full-back. Both Locatelli and Kelly are expected to return to the starting XI for the PSV game, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Sport Italia.
Andrea Cambiaso, who returned from a recent ankle injury, could also feature after playing 30 minutes in the Inter match.
One notable absence will be Douglas Luiz, who has not traveled with the team. Juventus’ only other injury concerns remain long-term absentees: Gleison Bremer, Juan Cabal, and Arkadiusz Milik.
Here’s the Juventus squad for the return leg against PSV: Goalkeepers: Di Gregorio, Perin, Pinsoglio.
Defenders: Cambiaso, Savona, Gatti, Kelly, Veiga, Rouhi.
Midfielders: Locatelli, Thuram, McKennie, Koopmeiners.
Forwards: Kolo Muani, Vlahovic, Yildiz, Conceicao, N. Gonzalez, Weah, Mbangula.
