The Argentine striker was visibly frustrated on the pitch after the final whistle, with some reports suggesting that lip-reading from video footage indicated a potentially blasphemous remark. However, without clear audio proof, officials have been unable to conclusively determine whether the 27-year-old actually uttered the alleged phrase.
Despite the lack of definitive evidence, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has not closed the case. According to Il Messaggero, investigators remain focused on obtaining any available audio recordings that could substantiate the accusation.
If proof emerges, Martinez could be handed a one-match ban. However, a final decision is not expected before Inter’s high-stakes clash against Napoli at the Stadio Diego Maradona.
