La Liga president Tebas sends fresh threat to Barcelona over Dani Olmo

La Liga president Javier Tebas has reaffirmed that Spanish football authorities are still actively working to have Barcelona star Dani Olmo removed from the club’s official squad list.

The prolonged registration dispute involving Barcelona appeared to have reached its conclusion last month. After both La Liga and the RFEF initially blocked Olmo’s registration, the club successfully appealed the decision in court. This victory allowed summer signings Olmo and Pau Víctor to officially join Hansi Flick’s squad.

However, as previously hinted, Javier Tebas remains determined to overturn this ruling. Speaking at a Europa Press event on Monday, as reported by beIN Sports, the La Liga chief made it clear that efforts to revoke Olmo’s registration are far from over:

“He should not finish the season with Barcelona. We submitted a very clear document. On January 3, we requested specific guarantees because the club’s financial situation appeared unstable. Then the money arrived, the case went to the CSD, and within 24 hours, they ruled in favor of Barcelona, granting a precautionary measure that raised some doubts. Olmo signed his agreements fully aware that there was a possibility he might not be registered in December. He knew this risk existed.”
