Harry Kane: Bayern Munich striker misses training with facial injury

Harry Kane was absent from Bayern Munich’s training session ahead of their crucial Champions League playoff second-leg clash against Celtic on Tuesday. The star striker sustained a facial injury during Bayern’s goalless Bundesliga draw against Bayer Leverkusen.

Despite the knock, the 31-year-old played the full 90 minutes in the high-stakes encounter between the title contenders. However, he was noticeably missing from Bayern’s latest training session as they prepare to host Celtic, whom they defeated 2-1 in the first leg at Celtic Park.

Addressing Kane’s absence, Bayern manager Vincent Kompany reassured reporters during Monday’s press conference that the injury was not a major concern.

“It’s nothing serious,” Kompany stated. “We haven’t had much time for recovery, and sometimes players need an extra rest day. We’ll assess how he feels and make a decision, but I don’t expect it to be anything significant.”

Kane, who scored in last week’s victory over Celtic, has been in phenomenal form for Bayern this season, netting 29 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions.
